New huchen photos from Tadej

Nice to hear Tadej again :) Traditionally every year he sends me photos of capital huchen caught by his father and him. This season they had a few "decent" fish between 80 - 107 cm. Pity that the quality of photos is not better, but these are too nice fish that they wouldn't been posted on this blog. Thanks Tadej!

Just not hungry?

What is happening with pike at Ontario lake? If someone knows the answer please tell me. Information from lake are that it is really hard to have at least one bite per day. Maybe this cold weather will force them to start to feed. Till this I can only look at my photo archive to check how decent pike looks like ;)

Cuttlefish and squid from the Adriatic!

The season of Cephalopods fishing has just begun at the Adriatic. Even this is not a "real" fishing technique, squid fishing with lures is really popular here. We like to do it from kayak, what gives you indescribable feeling, but you can catch squid from regular boat or from the coast. All you need is a certain type of squid lures, spinning rod, line and reel. With same type of lures you can catch cuttlefish too. Both are delicious!

"EEEEEE what to say ..... Phenomenal nature, good people, great food ... Lake has 500 acres, you can easy to get lost! There are many branches in the water, water depths is between 1 and 2 meters. Pike are fished from a boat on the spoon and Monarch jerk voblers (Original model, Piker, and Hecht Killer). Pike like to attack on the water surface, and almost every bite can be seen. Each gives you a phenomenal pike drill. Largest were 100 and 103 cm and averaged about 80 cm. Work best when it is raining or the wind blows and the weakest in the sun."

Asp mania!

This is a great Asp season at the river Sava. It is unbelievable experience watching a school of asp feeding at the surface of the river. Sometimes it is enough to throw your streamer or lure at this area and they will took it, but sometimes they successfully avoid all type of lures and that's the charm of this game. We need to protect asp even it is not regulated by law, please handle carefully with fish and release em back to the river.
