The climate is obviously changing! This year in Croatia will be
remembered for the heavy rains, the high water levels of our rivers, and
serious floodings.
High water levels perhaps doesn't matter to the fish much, but fly fishing in these condition isn't easy at all. Gacka is part of this story, and has often poured into the fields this year. Access to a lot of fishing spots is extremely tricky in these conditions, and you have to walk trough the water to reach the riverbed. From there, it is possible to fish standing in deep and cold water - but it isn't pleasant. The second aggravating factor is the fact that from this position you will hardly see any trout. Unseen trout fishing without any strike indicators is not easy, but even in these conditions, the Gacka river is fish-able, and you can catch some of brown and rainbow trout that are living there.
