Surface Madness

Bluefish surface spinning is pretty similar to asp fishing with the similar type of lures. “Walk the dog” lures, streamers, metal spoon lures, unweighted silicone lures or poppers can do the work for you. Both fish are very aggressive when they feed on the surface, and they are making a lot of noise when chasing schools of small fish. The biggest difference between this two fish, except the fact that they are living in different type of water media, are teeth. Asp must live his life and feed the fish toothless, while bluefish is armed whit sharp teeth that will bite victim with surgical precision thereby not sparing your fluorocarbon leader. Quiet and long flight, and an ability to be led on the surface in different ways, often will produce results. This was very rainy year and the water level of rivers and lakes often went high, even now in the middle of summer. If you went fishing and the lake is flooded, you have no choice but to step in water with or without your waders. Be careful while walking and stalking fish, because bass often went out on flooded roads and meadows, where you can catch it. In this case, the effort paid off. Although the water was cloudy and colder than normal, and the bass was generally not-active, Zlatko had a few fish. At the end of this refreshing fishing he just squeezed the water out of his shoes, dried his feet and put on dry socks and another shoes.

Unforgettable vacation

Two weeks at the Adriatic, and many memorable moments from Peljesac peninsula and Korcula island. Of course the most important event was catch of 6 kg sea bass, what is my new personal best. Detailed story will probably follow in the future, but for now here are just some photos from the holidays.
